Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

A delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has returned from a working visit to Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China. A key objective of the visit was to enhance public safety systems and expand cooperation in the field of digital transformation.

During the visit, delegation members held productive negotiations focused on the further development of the "Safe City” systems. They also focused on the integration of advanced digital technologies into law enforcement practices, and the exchange of international experience in this area.

The delegation also visited Huawei’s data processing center, cloud computing laboratory, public security solutions pavilion, and artificial intelligence innovation hubs. They became familiar with cutting-edge technological solutions and discussed their potential application in Uzbekistan's security infrastructure. Artificial intelligence was specifically discussed in relation to traffic management, crime prevention, public order maintenance, and rapid response to violations.

Following the discussion, the parties agreed on key areas of cooperation for the future. The plan involves inviting Huawei engineers to Uzbekistan to conduct technical audits, signing memorandums of understanding with the Safe City Center and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, and developing intelligent video surveillance systems and digital management systems. In the longer term, these initiatives will contribute to the creation of an Artificial Intelligence Competence Center, the establishment of a cybersecurity training program, and the overall digital transformation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was noted that the partnership with China’s Huawei and the study of its best practices will play a significant role in shaping the concept of a safe and smart city in Uzbekistan. The experience gained during this visit is expected to support efforts in ensuring public safety, preventing crime, and improving the quality of life for citizens.
