Internal Affairs Bodies prioritize the safety of tourists and passengers

Uzbekistan continues to welcome millions of foreign visitors each year for both tourism and pilgrimage, while domestic tourism is also experiencing a dynamic growth. A growing number of intercity tours, family vacations, and group excursions reflect the growing well-being of the population.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has established permanent service units within its territorial divisions to ensure the safety of transport and tourism facilities. In this regard, the Ministry's Press Service organized a press tour on the theme "Security Guarantees – the Basis of Stability in Tourism and Transport", in order to inform the media about the outcomes of reforms implemented under the leadership of the Head of State and future initiatives.
During the event, public activists, journalists, and bloggers were introduced to the conditions created at the Department for Ensuring Safe Tourism in Bostanlyk District, Tashkent Region. During demonstrations, modern technologies and transportation resources were showcased for preventing potential incidents during tourist recreation, extreme sports, and water activities.
The press tour also presented the results of service activities carried out this year by the Department for Ensuring Security at Transport and Tourism Facilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its regional units. The participants were given an overview of the operational system in place to safeguard tourists in the Bustanlik district.
According to data, between January and July 2025, a total of 7,415,531 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan, of whom 949,933 arrived for tourism purposes. In the field of domestic tourism, 30,542,768 local travelers visited Tashkent city as well as the regions of Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Khorezm, Jizzakh, and Fergana. The Safe Tourism Departments successfully welcomed 257 delegations from 61 foreign countries and organizations, with no adverse incidents recorded.
Following the press tour, a press conference was held with senior officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs. Bloggers and journalists received comprehensive answers to their questions.
Transport facilities, such as stations, airports, railway lines, and adjacent territories, have been organized with regular service activities. The focus remains on prevention measures and crime prevention strategies.
Specifically, the safety of 12,062,745 passengers (9,303,480 international and 2,759,265 domestic) was ensured across 76,543 flights (56,822 international and 19,721 domestic) conducted through the country’s airports. In the context of prevention efforts, 11,957 awareness activities were carried out, including 4,344 talks and meetings at enterprises, 2,949 at educational institutions, and 4,664 at local communities.
