In a significant development, the collaborative efforts of the National Central Bureaus of Interpol in Uzbekistan and Abu Dhabi, supported by the police forces of the United Arab Emirates, have resulted in the successful return of twelve wanted individuals to Uzbekistan. These individuals, sought by the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan, were extradited from the territory of the UAE.
Achieving this result demonstrates the strength of the bilateral relations established between our respective National Central Bureaus. A recent virtual meeting with our Arab counterparts provided a platform to discuss strategies for enhancing bilateral cooperation in operational search initiatives aimed at identifying and extraditing fugitives.
During the meeting, approval was granted for the extradition of three individuals sought for various offenses. Additionally, it was suggested that a face-to-face meeting be scheduled upon arrival of the monitoring group in the UAE in order to clarify future actions.
Discussions held with the leadership of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Police facilitated a constructive dialogue concerning Uzbek nationals engaging in illicit activities within the UAE. In the initial segment of the meeting, both the Arab and Uzbek teams exchanged comprehensive lists of wanted individuals and suspects.
In the concluding segment, representatives from the Interpol National Central Bureau in Tashkent successfully negotiated the terms for the extradition of the twelve wanted criminals back to the Republic of Uzbekistan. Upon their return, these individuals will be turned over to the judicial authorities of Uzbekistan to face legal proceedings and receive the appropriate legal penalties for their actions.
