While the delegation members are on a visit to Uzbekistan, they will also have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of the country, as well as examine the activities of local law enforcement agencies and explore potential cooperation between our nations in the field of law enforcement.
A highlight of the visit occurred on June 10, when Chief Hoong Wee Teck met with First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ayubkhon Rakhmatullayev. During this meeting, both parties emphasized their mutual commitment to enhance collaborative efforts. They exchanged valuable insights and best practices in several pertinent areas, including youth crime prevention, crime-fighting strategies including cybersecurity measures and initiatives aimed at protecting young individuals from the dangers of narcotics and synthetic drugs.
A friendly and constructive meeting resulted in a number of initiatives aimed at further strengthening the relationship between the two organizations.
Further to their meetings, the Singaporean police delegation will visit the internal affairs services in Samarkand and Bukhara and evaluate Uzbekistan's tourism potential, paying particular attention to tourist safety and security.
