A meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to discuss issues of improving the implementation of digital technologies in the system, and increasing the effectiveness of early prevention and detection of cybercrime.
It was attended by officials of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs and officials of sectoral services, as well as the leadership of the prosecutor's office.
At the event, the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further strengthen the fight against crimes committed using information technologies” and “On measures to establish the Department of Digital Technologies and Legal Statistics in the Ministry of Internal Affairs” and the priority tasks set in them were read out.
It is emphasized that with the emergence of new forms of crime, cybercrime, and information threats in society, the use of digital technology for law enforcement is becoming increasingly important.
Based on the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the tasks of improving the legal, organizational and technical foundations of this process, developing digital reforms in the system of law enforcement agencies within the framework of the "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy are being implemented in our country. Developing promising proposals and recommendations based on international experience, increasing the effectiveness of ensuring human rights with the help of digital technologies, enhancing the quality of services for citizens, and expanding the opportunities for introducing modern approaches to corruption have been outlined. In this regard, clear responsibilities and accountability have been established between state bodies, organizations, banks, payment system operators, and payment organizations.
Also, based on the decision of the Head of State, the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for Information Technologies was terminated and the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Head of the Department of Digital Technologies and Legal Statistics was established and Colonel Zufar Kurbanov was appointed to this position.
At the meeting, the issues of digital transformation of the internal affairs system, the main directions of this process and future prospects of development were discussed. Suggestions and opinions of officials were heard.
