Six citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who had been placed on the international wanted list through Interpol channels on suspicion of committing crimes of varying degrees of severity were extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Uzbekistan as a result of consistent and coordinated efforts in international police cooperation.
The extradition was made possible by many years of cooperation between the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan and the National Central Bureau of the UAE, as well as systematic efforts to strengthen direct working relations between the competent authorities of the two countries.
Regular working meetings and exchanges between representatives of the two bureaus at international events, including the Interpol General Assembly, meetings of heads of Interpol National Central Bureaus, and other international forums, have contributed to the development of this cooperation. In these meetings, agreements are reached and work contacts are established, which facilitate the exchange of information about the location of those hiding abroad and the effective coordination of joint efforts.
As a result of coordinated efforts by the National Central Bureaus of Interpol of Uzbekistan and the UAE, in collaboration with the competent authorities of both countries, the necessary procedures were completed and the extradition of the six internationally wanted citizens was achieved.
Since the beginning of this year, 16 wanted persons have been extradited from the UAE to Uzbekistan at the initiative of the Interpol Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This result shows the practical effectiveness of international cooperation through Interpol and highlights the importance of stable working relations between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries in combating transnational crime and preventing criminals from evading prosecution.
The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan continues to make consistent efforts to locate people hiding abroad and return them to the Republic of Uzbekistan according to the legal procedure.
