The Ministry of Internal Affairs reviewed the crime situation in the republic over the first eight months of the year. This included efforts to combat crime, prevent offenses, prevent cybercrime, and conduct public awareness activities.
The videoconference was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, deputy ministers, heads of sectoral services and regional internal affairs bodies, and personnel.
At the meeting, the work carried out in the regions was critically analyzed, and tasks were identified for preventing crime, eliminating the causes and conditions contributing to offenses, stabilizing criminogenic situations, and assuring public safety.
The emphasis was placed on preventing offenses by identifying and eliminating the factors that contribute to their commission at an early stage, rather than taking action after an offense has occurred. In this regard, relevant tasks have been assigned, including conducting an in-depth analysis of the situation in the regions, focusing the activities of responsible personnel on specific outcomes, and improving cooperation between the sectoral services.
Cybercrime and the protection of the population from technological threats were also given particular attention.
On September 24, at a meeting chaired by the Head of State, the importance of implementing tasks related to the widespread use of digital technologies in preventing cybercrime and ensuring public safety was emphasized. The meeting was on the topic of socio-economic development of Andijan region, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and increasing household incomes.
It was noted that deputy positions are being introduced in the internal affairs bodies of Andijan city, Shahrihan and Andijan districts, Tashkent city, and Chilanzar district in order to promote digitalization and combat cybercrime. Using artificial intelligence, these officials will analyze data from street surveillance cameras in order to develop measures designed to prevent hooliganism, theft, and traffic accidents.
It was decided to introduce this initiative in other regions by the end of the year. A key goal is to transform digital technologies into an effective tool for identifying risks, conducting analyses, and taking preventive measures.
A targeted approach to the population, increasing public awareness about digital security, and strengthening preventative measures were also emphasized as essential to combating the crime at a very early stage were also highlighted.
Following the meeting, relevant tasks were assigned to strengthen the cooperation between specialized services and territorial units, ensure that the work of responsible personnel is focused on achieving concrete results, and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed properly and on schedule.
