The Uzbek and Japanese research institutions have signed a new agreement on criminology cooperation

On September 16, a delegation of managers and specialists from the Department of Evidence-Based Policymaking of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, the Research and Training Institute, and the Nagoya University of Economics visited the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The delegation members were informed about the establishment, status, and priorities of the Institute of Criminology of Uzbekistan and the achieved scientific results.
During the meeting, a number of agreements were reached, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation between the Institute of Criminology of Uzbekistan and the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, the developing and implementing of the cooperation program for 2024-2026, ensuring the participation of the head of the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Japan and leading criminological scientists in the international forum on "Best practices of world criminology" held annually by the Institute of Criminology of Uzbekistan, on October 29-30, inviting the leading criminological scientists of the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Japan to Uzbekistan membership of the International Council of Experts at the Institute of Criminology.
As a result of the friendly and constructive negotiations, the issue of implementing measures of scientific cooperation in criminology was agreed upon for future consideration.
