Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

A meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security was held in Beijing as part of the "Central Asia-China" format. Ministers of internal affairs from Central Asian countries and representatives from the Ministry of Public Security of China attended the meeting. Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, Minister of Internal Affairs, headed the Uzbek delegation.

The meeting continued the development of Central Asia–China relations, which have been rapidly developing in recent years.

Regular meetings between the heads of state and open political dialogue have strengthened mutual trust and given substance to the strategic partnership. This cooperation covers not only the economic, trade, investment, transport, and humanitarian spheres, but also law enforcement and security.

Today, as security threats increasingly cross national borders, timely information exchange and coordinated action are essential for effectively countering terrorism, extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime.

Crimes committed in cyberspace, in particular, require new approaches. Cooperation between law enforcement agencies becomes particularly important when the perpetrator, organizer, and victim of a crime may be located in different countries.

During the dialogue in Beijing, the sides discussed opportunities to exchange experience in these areas. They also discussed opportunities to expand practical cooperation, and make effective use of modern technologies.

The delegations also attended the opening ceremony of a training center for law enforcement officers from Central Asia and China.

In addition to providing professional training to personnel, the educational institution will provide an opportunity to study advanced practices and develop practical skills. Specifically, the exchange of experience among specialists from different countries will contribute to the effort to combat transnational crime, cybercrime, and other modern threats.

Organizing training within a unified platform for cooperation will provide specialists from different countries with opportunities for direct exchange of experience, improvements in practical skills, and adoption of advanced approaches. The most important benefit of such cooperation is that it will contribute to the development of common approaches to ensuring security.

During the meeting, Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong solemnly presented the Great Wall commemorative medal to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, as a symbol of the consistent development of bilateral relations and interdepartmental cooperation.

Following the event, it was highlighted that China's experience in ensuring public security and introducing digital technologies into the law enforcement system is of great importance for Central Asia countries, and the mutual exchange of experience will increase the effectiveness of combating all new forms of crime.
