Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

An extraordinary session of the Khorezm Regional Council of People’s Deputies was held to discuss measures aimed at strengthening public security, stabilizing the criminogenic situation, and improving the effectiveness of the internal affairs bodies.

Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, Minister of Internal Affairs, regional governor Jurabek Rakhimov, members of the Council of People's Deputies, heads of relevant agencies and partner organizations, representatives from cities and districts, as well as law enforcement agency leaders and employees attended the session.

The first item on the agenda was the organizational matter.

According to the relevant order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Oybek Abdukarimovich Kaimkhodjaev, a graduate of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has been appointed Head of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs.

A review of the criminogenic situation in the region, an analysis of the efforts being made to prevent and combat crime, as well as measures to address the existing issues was also discussed at the session.

A special emphasis was paid to implementing the tasks set out in the decisions and instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening crime prevention and ensuring a safe environment in mahallas.

In this regard, the newly appointed head was entrusted with the significant and responsible task of not only increasing the scale and effectiveness of the fight against crime, but also introducing more effective mechanisms to ensure peace and tranquility in the regions.

It has been stressed that creating a safe environment begins with the early prevention of crimes and offenses in every mahalla through collaboration with the mahalla seven representatives, establishing an open and sincere dialogue with the population, identifying pressing problems on the ground, and addressing them.

In addition, heads of city and district departments of internal affairs were charged with moving preventive work beyond formal measures and developing targeted solutions to problems affecting all households, families, and citizens. The focus was on conducting an in-depth analysis of the causes and factors underlying citizens' appeals. The factors contributing to crime in each mahalla were identified, and appropriate tasks were assigned to eliminate these factors.

Following the conclusion of the session, proposals and comments were summarized, and steps were taken to strengthen peace and tranquility in the region, maintain public order, and improve the safety of the population.
