An extraordinary session of the Andijan Regional Council of People’s Deputies was held to discuss the implementation of tasks set by the Head of State aimed at curbing crime in the region.
In addition to Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov, representatives from the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, members of the Council of People's Deputies, representatives from the city and district, and law enforcement agency leaders attended the event.
During the meeting, the organizational matter on the agenda was discussed.
The Minister of Internal Affairs has appointed Colonel Abdumajid Mavlyanovich Shermukhamedov to the position of Head of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, who previously served as the Head of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
As part of the meeting, a comprehensive and critical review of the work undertaken to implement the President's decision about creating a safe environment in mahallas, identifying offenses at an early stage, and improving the prevention system was conducted. An emphasis was placed on completing the tasks assigned in this area.
The newly appointed head has been assigned specific tasks aimed at curbing crime, improving mahalla safety, working with citizen appeals, ensuring public satisfaction, and identifying existing problems and resolving them systematically, based on an analysis of the criminal situation in the region.
In addition, relevant tasks were assigned to the heads of city and district departments of internal affairs to enhance the effectiveness of preventive and practical measures in these areas.
Following the session, the opinions and proposals of the responsible officials and sector specialists were heard. Priority measures were identified to address existing problems and ensure consistent implementation of assigned tasks.
