A special focus is being paid to ensuring the safety of students and faculty as part of the celebration of Knowledge Day on September 2 and the beginning of a new academic year.

Knowledge Day ceremonies will take place in 11,178 secondary schools across the country this year, with around 5.8 million students and their parents expected to participate.

Additionally, 598 vocational educational institutions and 73 academic lyceums will begin their new academic year. In this regard, it is essential to further strengthen security measures in educational institutions during the first days of the school year, to maintain public order, and to implement preventive measures in a systematic manner.

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to discuss preparations for the new school year, maintaining public order, and preventing a variety of undesirable incidents.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov; Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel General Bakhodir Tashmatov; Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major General Azizbek Ikramov; and officials from relevant sectors.

During the meeting, it was noted that millions of students, first-graders, and their parents will participate in Knowledge Day events this year. Therefore, ensuring public order and security at the venues, as well as properly regulating movement in crowded areas, is of particular importance.

The necessary measures will be taken to ensure traffic safety around educational institutions, regulate pedestrian movement, and monitor vehicle movement and stopping in front of schools.

Taking into account the participation of first-graders and their parents in the celebrations, particular attention will be given to the organization of safe pedestrian and vehicle movements around schools.

In addition to discussing compliance with fire safety requirements in educational institutions, the meeting also discussed their readiness to prevent fires and other emergencies, identify shortcomings, and take quick action when required.

All relevant officials have been instructed to ensure that security measures are in place in advance at every educational institution, to enhance preventative efforts, to address identified deficiencies in a timely manner, and to establish effective cooperation between the departments responsible.

The first day of the new academic year is a significant and exciting occasion not only for students but also for their parents. It is the responsibility of all officials to ensure that events involving millions of citizens are held peacefully, in an orderly manner, and in a safe manner.

The safety of children is a shared responsibility. Therefore, all necessary measures are being taken to ensure that the Knowledge Day celebrations are held at a high level and, most importantly, in full compliance with security requirements.
