Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs held a videoconference meeting to discuss preparations for events marking the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, measures to ensure public safety, and the continued implementation of the nationwide "Safe and Healthy Country" comprehensive preventive campaign.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Emergency Situations, the Commander of the National Guard, and the heads of the territorial divisions of these agencies. The meeting participants reviewed measures to ensure public safety during the upcoming celebrations, prevent crimes and offences, effectively deploy personnel and resources, and strengthen interagency cooperation.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, highlighted maintaining public order during nationwide public events as one of his highest priorities. In this regard, he instructed responsible officials to enhance coordination among sectoral services, enhance preventive measures, and improve cooperation between law enforcement agencies.

In addition, the meeting reviewed the results of the first 29 days of the campaign "Safe and Healthy Country". Effectiveness of the measures implemented was assessed, existing deficiencies were analyzed, and responsible officials were instructed to appropriately recognize leaders who achieved outstanding results while taking disciplinary action against those who failed to fulfill their duties responsibly. A particular emphasis was placed on improving the effectiveness of preventive measures.

According to the instructions of the Head of State, the second phase of the "Safe and Healthy Country" campaign will continue until August 15. In this period, the focus will be on maintaining public order, preventing offenses at an early stage, and expanding the scope of preventive measures.

Colonel General Bakhodir Tashmatov, Commander of the National Guard, discussed the tasks related to ensuring enhanced security at Independence Day celebration venues, recreation parks, public squares, and other crowded locations, as well as strengthening the coordination between law enforcement agencies.

The Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Azizbek Ikramov, provided participants with information on fire safety measures at event venues, the prevention of emergencies, and strengthening preventive measures in major markets and shopping centers.

The videoconference also discussed shortcomings identified in several regions. The heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Sirdarya and Jizzakh Regional Internal Affairs Departments, and the Tashkent Regional Main Department of Internal Affairs presented reports. Specified instructions were given to them regarding the immediate resolution of the identified deficiencies and the effective implementation of the tasks assigned.

The meeting concluded with the recommendation that leaders of all levels should ensure the highest level of public safety during events celebrating the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, strictly observe executive discipline, strengthen interagency cooperation, and ensure timely and effective execution of all tasks within the framework of the "Safe and Healthy Country" campaign.
