Crime prevention efforts and criminogenic circumstances in Surkhandarya are being critically reviewed

The Surkhandarya region continues to make targeted efforts to ensure public peace and security, prevent crime and offences at an early stage, and ensure a safe environment in every mahalla.
A working group led by the Head of the Surkhandarya Regional Internal Affairs Department, Colonel Timur Ismailov, is conducting a critical review of the activities of operational headquarters established under the "Safe and Healthy Country" comprehensive operational and preventive campaign, as well as the effectiveness of crime prevention measures and the performance of responsible officials.
The working group recently visited the Uzbekistan mahalla in Termez, a yellow-category mahalla. Public safety measures were reviewed on-site to assess the effectiveness of preventive activities under the "Safe and Healthy Country" campaign, the current criminal environment, and crime prevention efforts. A detailed discussion of each issue was conducted, and specific measures were identified for further improvement.
The working group also inspected the Termez City Internal Affairs Department, paying particular attention to the condition of the administrative building and the surrounding area. The activities of the "Safe and Healthy Country" operational headquarters established within the department were reviewed, and responsible officials were given instructions to address the shortcomings identified during the inspection.
The day's activities concluded with a videoconference meeting chaired by the Head of the Surkhandarya Regional Internal Affairs Department through the Termez City Internal Affairs Department. Deputy heads of regional departments, heads of sectoral services, staff members, and the leadership of all city and district internal affairs agencies participated in the meeting.
It was discussed during the meeting how the activities of the "Safe and Healthy Country" operational headquarters could be critically analyzed. Officials presented reports on measures aimed at transforming local areas into crime-free zones, accelerating digitalization, ensuring road safety, improving probation and social prevention systems, combating cybercrime, expanding video surveillance networks, increasing the use of Security Service protection for homes and facilities, and preventing family and domestic conflicts and related crimes at an early stage. The effectiveness of work in each of these areas has been improved through the assignment of specific tasks.
