On July 21, a delegation from the Personalization Center of the Migration and Personalization Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.
During the visit, the delegation successfully updated the digital security certificates for Uzbekistan's biometric passports, including certificates for the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and ICAO Public Key Directory (PKD).
The update was done in full compliance with the requirements of ICAO Doc 9303 international standard.
Following the update, all participating states were provided with the new certificates through ICAO's PKD system. This will help ensure the seamless verification of Uzbekistan’s biometric passports by border authorities around the world and prevent potential authentication issues during international travel.
The updated certificates will further enhance biometric passport data integrity and strengthen international travel security for citizens of Uzbekistan.
As an active participant in the ICAO PKD system, the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to consistently improve its electronic document infrastructure and expand international cooperation in this field.
