Cyber security and the rule of law are important factors in the fight against drug addiction

A large-scale awareness event was held at Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnology at the initiative of the Surkhandarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs and the Termez City Department of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with the prosecutor’s office and judicial authorities.
During the event, participants were provided with detailed information on the essence and significance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. LRU-1151 of June 11, 2026, which introduced amendments to legislative acts aimed at strengthening liability for the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues, and potent substances. Special attention was given to the harmful effects of drug addiction on public health and the nation’s gene pool, as well as its impact on public safety and social stability.
In addition, participants were informed about cybercrime, including online fraud schemes and measures to prevent such crimes.
The event was attended by individuals under probation supervision and general public, who showed keen interest in the legal explanations and practical recommendations provided by experts.
The purpose of these awareness-raising activities is to enhance legal awareness, prevent criminal acts, and promote a safe and secure environment in society.
