A discussion was held regarding Uzbek citizens' rights in Russia

On June 9-13, a representative of the Migration and Personalization Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in a series of working meetings on labor migration issues held in Saint Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, and Kaliningrad of the Russian Federation. The meetings were held within the framework of an interagency delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odiljon Abdullayev and brought together representatives of the relevant authorities of both countries.
The parties reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of migration, with special attention being paid to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens in the Russian Federation. Participants also exchanged views on current challenges in the migration sphere and explored practical measures aimed at addressing existing issues.
Special emphasis was placed on further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia competent agencies, enhancing the effectiveness of migration management mechanisms, ensuring compliance with migration legislation, and creating favorable conditions for labor migrants.
