Uzbekistan and Turkey deepen their cooperation on internal affairs

A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Cangir visited Samarkand.
During the visit, the Interdepartmental Coordination Working Group met, with the purpose of further developing cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
The discussions focused on a wide range of issues related to public security, including combating transnational crime, preventing terrorism and extremism, and enhancing coordinated efforts to counter cybercrime.
After the meeting, the parties signed a protocol outlining the agreements reached and the next steps for implementing joint initiatives.
As part of the program, the Turkish delegation also visited the Situation Center of the Samarkand Regional Department of Internal Affairs, where they were introduced to modern monitoring and coordination systems used to ensure public safety.
Furthermore, during the visit, the delegation members learned about the work being done to ensure safe tourism at tourist sites in Samarkand.
Held in a friendly and constructive environment, the visit contributed to strengthening mutual trust, expanding professional dialogue, and further enhancing practical cooperation between the Ministries of the two countries.
