As part of the meeting on interparliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, a group of deputies led by Veysal Tipioglu, Chair of the Security and Intelligence Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs today.
Diyorbek Sattarov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the Ministry's activities as well as the positive results achieved through the cooperation between law enforcement agencies in both countries in recent years.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a broad range of issues related to security and law enforcement cooperation. Discussions focused on strengthening joint efforts to cooperate in combating organized transnational crime, in particular, terrorism, extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, human trafficking and illegal migration, as well as improving the knowledge and skills of internal affairs officers.
An emphasis was placed on the growing impact of digital technologies on the nature of modern crime. The parties noted that many criminal activities are increasingly occurring on online platforms, which makes international cooperation, timely information exchange, and the exchange of advanced practices more important than ever. In this regard, both sides emphasized the need to further enhance collaboration in combating cybercrime and responding effectively to emerging security challenges.
Following the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive environment, the parties planned promising tasks for the development of mutual cooperation.
