Major General Rustam Juraev, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Public Security Department, led an urgent videoconference meeting to ensure the safety and well-being of children during the summer holiday season.
The meeting brought together senior officials and representatives of the Public Security Department, territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, public order maintenance units, crime prevention and road safety services, the Security Department, as well as specialists responsible for protecting the rights and interests of minors.
Major General Rustam Juraev opened the meeting by stating that ensuring the safety of children during summer holidays is a priority task for all relevant agencies. In particular, the timely completion of preparations at the children's recreation centers, the strengthening of prevention activities, and the creation of safe and comfortable living conditions for children were given special attention.
The First Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of strict compliance with safety requirements during the transportation of children, the proper organization of escorted bus convoys, and the continuous monitoring of the technical conditions of the vehicles involved in the transportation process.
He also stressed the need for close coordination among responsible organizations to maintain public order and security both within recreation camps and in the surrounding areas.
As part of this effort, specific tasks were assigned to improve the effectiveness of the Republican Working Group "Care-2026" and the operational headquarters responsible for coordinating safety measures during the holiday season.
Over 157,000 children are expected to spend their holidays at over 180 stationary recreation camps across the country this year. The summer campaign has already begun, with 113 camps in operation and approximately 19,000 children participating in recreational and educational activities.
Additionally, significant efforts have been made to ensure the safety of children during transportation. Over 200 service vehicles and road safety personnel have been mobilized to accompany organized groups and provide secure transportation to recreation facilities.
An assessment of camp readiness was conducted in collaboration with local authorities, the Road Safety Center, and other relevant organizations. During these preparations, more than 3,400 kilometers of roads leading to recreation areas were inspected. Improvements to the infrastructure included the installation of nearly 1,300 road signs, the marking of 244 kilometers of roadway, the designation of 368 pedestrian crossings, and the repair of 134 kilometers of roadway.
Integrated security arrangements have been established at recreation centers in order to maintain public order and provide quick response to any incidents. These include preventive inspections, patrols and public order units, emergency services, and other responsible agencies. A dedicated team has also been assigned to monitor the situation on a daily basis.
A number of prevention measures have been strengthened in the areas surrounding the camps, with a particular focus on expanding video surveillance coverage and integrating security cameras with centralized monitoring systems.
Following the meeting, participants were instructed to intensify efforts to combat juvenile delinquency, to ensure children have safe and meaningful recreational opportunities, and to strengthen cooperation among all agencies responsible for protecting the safety and well-being of young citizens during the summer.
