Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Meets with INTERPOL Secretary General on the Sidelines of the SCO Ministerial Meeting in Bishkek

The discussions focused on key issues of international law enforcement cooperation and opportunities to further strengthen the partnership between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and INTERPOL in addressing transnational organized crime.
The parties exchanged views on enhancing the exchange of operational information, strengthening cooperation in the international search for fugitives, and improving coordination in responding to emerging security threats. Both sides emphasized that the evolving nature of transnational crime requires closer cooperation among law enforcement agencies and the continued development of effective international mechanisms to safeguard public security and uphold the rule of law.
Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s strong commitment to cooperation with INTERPOL, noting that engagement with the Organization remains a priority component of the Ministry’s international activities. He highlighted the important contribution of this partnership to strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies in combating cross-border criminal activity.
Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza welcomed the ongoing cooperation with Uzbekistan and expressed INTERPOL’s readiness to further deepen practical collaboration. He underscored the essential role of INTERPOL’s National Central Bureaus in facilitating coordination, information sharing, and operational cooperation among member countries in the fight against international crime.
Concluding the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in support of public safety, the protection of citizens’ rights and legitimate interests, and the enhancement of collective international efforts to combat crime. They also stressed the importance of continued collaboration in promoting security and stability at both the regional and global levels.
