A delegation from Uzbekistan participated in the launch meeting of the BOMCA-11 Coordination Group

On May 20–21, Bishkek hosted the first coordination group meeting marking the official launch of the 11th phase of the European Union’s Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia — BOMCA-11.
The event brought together representatives of Central Asian countries and international partner organizations to discuss key priorities in strengthening regional cooperation and border security.
The Uzbekistan delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Association of Mahallas, the Border Troops of the State Security Service, and the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The meeting focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation, combating organized crime, and improving living conditions for border residents. Additionally, a particular focus was placed on implementing integrated border management principles, ensuring human rights compliance, and promoting gender equality in program activities.
During the meeting, participants discussed the program's priority areas, mechanisms for strengthening interagency cooperation, and approaches aimed at ensuring regional security and sustainable development of borderlands.
The BOMCA-11 program is coordinated by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development in cooperation with partner organizations, including CIVIPOL, INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Central Finance and Contracts Agency of Latvia.
The meeting provided an important platform for strengthening dialogue and developing practical cooperation in order to ensure stability and security throughout the region.
