Tashkent hosted the Asian MMA Championship Grand Opening Ceremony

Tashkent has become the host city for one of the biggest sporting events on the continent, the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship (AMMA). The event brings together athletes and sports officials from all over Asia.
The Uzbek athletes have been demonstrating impressive results in various combat sports on the international stage for many years. Furthermore, the country has gained valuable experience in organizing major international tournaments. One of the best examples of this growing reputation is the ongoing Asian MMA Championship.
The championship involves athletes from 23 Asian countries who are showcasing their skills and determination inside the octagon.
The grand opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, foreign guests, and members of the sports community.
During the event, Gordon Tang and Aziz Tashpulatov addressed the participants, wishing them success and memorable performances.
Speakers underscored the importance of sport as a bridge of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between nations. Additionally, it has been noted that the rapid development of MMA in Asia is closely linked to the organization of prestigious competitions as well as the increasing number of talented athletes participating in these competitions.
The championship holds special significance as it serves as the fourth and decisive qualifying stage for the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. As a result of this tournament, the winners and prize-winners will qualify for the Asian Games in Saudi Arabia.
The Uzbekistan national team consists of 50 athletes competing in a variety of age and weight categories.
