During the event, it was particularly emphasized that, within the framework of high-level meetings between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and France, numerous agreements, as well as concrete and targeted projects aimed at developing political dialogue, cultural and humanitarian exchange, trade, economic and investment activities, and cooperation in the field of law enforcement, are being successfully implemented.
Mr. Walid Fouque also separately highlighted the Global Forum on “Combating Transnational Drug Threats to Safeguard Public Health and Security,” held on April 20–21 of the current year in the city of Samarkand, and particularly noted the important initiatives of the Head of our State in combating illicit drug trafficking.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to combating transnational crime, including terrorism and extremism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, as well as preventing illegal migration and human trafficking, and promoting safe tourism.
Special attention was paid to personnel training. The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and French educational institutions, as well as to develop interaction in the field of experience exchange and the training of highly specialized professionals.
At the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the parties identified promising tasks for establishing an effective dialogue in many of the above-mentioned areas.
