Enhancing Cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the fields of security, crime prevention, and personnel training

A bilateral meeting between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, and the Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Xiaohong, was held in Astana within the framework of the “Central Asia – China” format. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries in a number of important areas, including combating crime, ensuring public security, improving personnel professional skills, and exchanging advanced experience.
The parties emphasized the importance of enhancing inter-departmental relations and developing effective collaboration in response to modern security challenges.
Furthermore, the sides discussed expanding cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, and other forms of transnational crime. Additionally, a detailed discussion was conducted regarding cybersecurity, digital forensics, and the use of modern technology in law enforcement.
The importance of expanding practical cooperation and ensuring consistent implementation of joint initiatives was stressed throughout the meeting.
Following the negotiations and agreements reached, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China signed a Cooperation Program for 2026–2027.
The friendly and constructive meeting outlined important future tasks aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in a variety of priority areas.
