Attempted sale of more than 1 kilogram of opium prevented in Namangan region

On May 8, a number of quick search operations were carried out during the first stage of the large-scale operational preventive measure "Black Drug-2026", which is being jointly carried out by the operative officers of the Namangan Regional Department of the State Security Service and the regional Internal Affairs and Customs Departments.
During the event, a "Spark" automobile passing through the "Zarafshan" mahalla in Chust district was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses. The officers discovered and seized 1.2 kilograms of the narcotic substance "opium" from the car during the inspection.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 246 and Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The suspects were detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
