On May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited war and labor veterans. They delivered sincere congratulations and commemorative awards on behalf of the head of state.
It is a meaningful date that commemorates those who endured the hardships of the Second World War and contributed to preserving peace for future generations by their courage and sacrifice. According to the Presidential resolution, veterans across the country are being treated with care, respect, and gratitude on this day of memory and honor.
Visits were also made to the Chilonzor district, where veteran Tamara Mikhailovna Sokolova welcomed guests warmly. The atmosphere of the mahalla was filled with celebration as the music performed by the exemplary orchestra, the smiles of children, and the sincere attention of visitors created a truly festive spirit.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, personally conveyed the President’s congratulations and presented special gifts and awards to the veteran. Tamara Mikhailovna, who survived the siege of Leningrad, shared heartfelt memories and expressed gratitude for today’s peaceful life.
Similar visits were made to other respected veterans living in the capital. Maria Akimovna Degtyarova, whose childhood years were marked by wartime hardships and life in a concentration camp, also received warm congratulations and words of appreciation for her resilience and contribution to society.
Special attention was also given to veteran Nikolai Petrunin, who courageously fought on the front lines during World War II and later continued his life and work in Tashkent. The nearly century-old veteran was congratulated and presented with gifts in recognition of his bravery and dedicated service.
At the home of Anna Karimova in Chilanzar district, relatives and loved ones gathered to celebrate the occasion together. Guests noted her modesty, strength, and lifelong devotion to hard work and family values.
The Ministry leadership also visited Maria Sergeevna Kamarova and Natalya Grigorevna Spivak, whose wartime experiences have left a profound mark on their lives. During sincere conversations, veterans reflected on the value of peace. They also reflected on the importance of preserving historical memories, and the happiness of witnessing today’s peaceful and stable life.
Another heartfelt meeting took place with 97-year-old Nadejda Kudrizkaya, originally from Leningrad. Although she rarely recalls the difficult years of war, she continues to share her life experiences with younger generations, encouraging them to cherish peace and unity.
The awards and congratulations were also presented to Alla Funtikova, who endured the hardships of wartime childhood and the difficult post-war years. Her life story, like those of many veterans, stands as a symbol of resilience, courage, and devotion to the homeland.
