Strengthening international cooperation in Public Security

Uzbekistan and Austria continue to develop their bilateral cooperation steadily. A visit by Austrian delegations, including representatives of the foreign and internal affairs ministries, as well as business representatives, reflects the growing scope of bilateral relations and mutual interest in expanding partnerships.
At the meeting, the sides discussed key areas of cooperation, with an emphasis on combating transnational crime, including illegal migration and human trafficking. Both parties have highlighted the importance of strengthening practical collaboration and developing personnel's professional capacities.
Additionally, new initiatives were proposed to combat global threats such as terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and organized crime. Further, issues related to safe tourism, improving migration management, fostering collaboration between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies, as well as improving staff training were discussed.
A memorandum of understanding between the internal affairs bodies of the two countries was signed at the end of the meeting.
A constructive and friendly meeting led to the identification of priority areas for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
During the visit, the Austrian delegation was also introduced to the activities of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, including modern technical capabilities and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
