As a result of coordinated efforts through Interpol channels, three individuals wanted by Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies have been located abroad, detained, and returned to the country.
The first two suspects are accused of fraud, while the third suspect is charged with human trafficking. Following the commission of these crimes, all three fled to the United Arab Emirates in an attempt to evade justice.
The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan, working in close cooperation with international partners and maximizing the effectiveness of Interpol's global search mechanisms, was able to identify their whereabouts.
The individuals were subsequently detained with the assistance of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Abu Dhabi. Their extradition was carried out in accordance with established legal procedures, including bilateral arrangements between the Interpol offices in Tashkent and Abu Dhabi.
Accompanied by Interpol officers, the suspects were brought back to Uzbekistan via Tashkent International Airport, where they will face further legal proceedings in accordance with national legislation.
The case is yet another example of how evading justice by leaving the country does not absolve individuals of their responsibilities.
