Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed expanding cooperation in combating corruption

A delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus visited Uzbekistan in order to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of law enforcement. The cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries has steadily developed over the past few years, and this visit marked an important step in deepening those ties.
As part of the program, a meeting was held between Colonel Oleg Laren, Head of the Main Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, and Colonel Rustam Mirzaev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan responsible for compliance and internal anti-corruption control.
During the discussion, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation. They exchanged views on key areas, including practical collaboration, personnel training, combating corruption-related offenses, and sharing best practices.
A constructive and open meeting concluded with the identification of priority areas for further strengthening bilateral ties.
Additionally, the Belarusian delegation visited Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department during the visit, where they were introduced to the operation of a modern situation center, ongoing digital transformation initiatives, and measures taken to promote safe tourism.
