Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime was discussed within the framework of the global forum held in Samarkand

As part of the forum titled “Combating Transnational Drug Threats to Ensure Public Health and Security,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, held an official meeting with the Deputy Executive Director of UNODC, Bo Mathiassen.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in key areas. These areas included law enforcement, countering illicit drug trafficking, strengthening measures against transnational organized crime, and enhancing international best practices exchange.
Mr. Mathiassen outlined UNODC's ongoing international initiatives and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Uzbekistan. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of joint projects aimed at strengthening regional security and preventing drug-related crimes.
Similarly, the Uzbek side presented an overview of reforms being implemented to prevent and combat crime, emphasizing the importance of expanding collaboration with international organizations.
In the constructive and friendly meeting, both parties confirmed their willingness to continue their mutually beneficial cooperation and advance new joint initiatives in the future
