The meeting, aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the internal affairs bodies of the two countries, was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major General Botir Kudratkhodjaev, along with the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Seyfulla Azimov, Police Lieutenant-General, as well as the heads of relevant services.
The parties discussed strengthening practical cooperation to combat crime, ensure public safety, and address transnational threats jointly. The use of modern technologies was particularly emphasized in order to expand the exchange of information and improve the coordination of operational activities.
Following the meeting, the sides signed a protocol aimed at further advancing interdepartmental cooperation. The document is expected to enhance collaboration between the internal affairs bodies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to a new level, while reinforcing mutual trust and cooperation.
As part of its visit, the delegation is also expected to gain an understanding of the operations of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, including how security measures are implemented at key tourist locations in the capital.
Furthermore, the delegation will attend the global forum on transnational drug threats, which will be held in Samarkand, where participants will discuss ways to strengthen efforts against illicit drug trafficking.
