The Minister reviewed the activities of the penal institutions in the Tashkent region

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, conducted a working visit to penal institutions in the Tashkent region. He focused on the ongoing reforms and the effectiveness of educational and vocational training programs for convicts.
As part of the visit, the Minister inspected penal colony No. 13 in Chirchik city and penal colony No. 7 in Bustanlik district. Particular attention was given to the conditions created in these institutions, as well as the effectiveness of efforts aimed at rehabilitation, education, and social reintegration of prisoners.
During the inspection, emphasis was placed on the efficient use of opportunities provided on the initiative of the Head of State, including measures to support moral development, expand access to education, provide vocational training, and involve inmates in socially beneficial activities.
The Minister reviewed the activities of medical and rehabilitation units, facilities for long- and short-term visits, specialized school branches, centers for spirituality and enlightenment, as well as canteens and dormitories. It was noted that systematic work was being carried out to support the health, education, and personal development of inmates.
Special attention was also given to production workshops operating within the institutions and to the activities of “Monocenters” focusing on vocational training. The importance of further expanding these initiatives was emphasized.
As part of the visit, and in line with the President’s directives to strengthen youth development, the Minister held an open dialogue with young inmates, with the participation of relevant officials. During the conversation, young people were encouraged to make full use of the opportunities provided. They were also encouraged to adhere strictly to internal regulations, and to prepare themselves to return to society as responsible and skilled individuals. Their questions and suggestions were heard and their appeals were received.
In addition, the Minister visited educational facilities to gain a better understanding of the conditions in classrooms for foreign language instruction, libraries, psychological support services, and media outreach facilities. Relevant instructions were given to further improve these areas.
Following the visit, guidance was provided to institutional leadership on enhancing educational work with staff. This included strengthening oversight of service activities, and offering practical support in addressing personnel needs.
