A meeting with the FIA delegation was held in Tashkent to discuss Motorsports Development and Road Safety

On December 10, a high-level meeting took place in Tashkent with a delegation of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), headed by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who is attending the FIA General Assembly in Uzbekistan. Aziz Tashpulatov, Minister of Internal Affairs, and representatives responsible for sports development, security, and transportation participated in the discussions.
A delegation of the FIA included Vice President for Mobility and Tourism Tim Shearman and Secretary General for Sustainable Development Willem Grönewald. From the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by Special Representative of the President for Sports Odil Abdurakhmanov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kasimov, Secretary General of the National Autosport and Karting Federation Alex Tsoi, as well as the Deputy Ministers of Health, Preschool and School Education and Transport.
It was emphasized that the advancement of motorsports plays an important role in fostering technical literacy, cultivating responsible attitudes toward speed, and reinforcing the discipline on the road.
The meeting also addressed issues related to road safety as well as motorsports development. A comprehensive presentation was made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding ongoing initiatives aimed at improving public safety, reducing traffic accidents, increasing pedestrian safety, and improving overall road user culture.
As part of their collaboration with the FIA, the parties discussed the implementation of advanced road safety practices in national training centers, the expansion of motorsports opportunities in Uzbekistan, the promotion of road safety education for youth, the improvement of road infrastructure in line with international standards, and introducing advanced road safety practices into national training centers.
Following the meeting, the sides identified a number of priorities for future cooperation, including the further development of motorsports in Uzbekistan, the integration of modern information technologies to enhance road safety, and the promotion of a high level of traffic culture among the population.
