Suspected drug traffickers were detained in Kokand, Fergana region

Targeted operational efforts are being conducted across the country in accordance with the implementation of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Comprehensive Measures to Effectively Protect the Health of the Population and the Nation’s Gene Pool from Drug Addiction and Drug-Related Crimes."
A criminal case involving the attempted illegal trafficking of narcotics in Kokand, Fergana region, was uncovered as a result of these measures undertaken by the Operational Search Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with territorial units.
During the operation, a citizen born in 1984, previously convicted under Articles 273 and 276 of the Criminal Code, and his accomplices were apprehended. They were attempting, in collusion with a citizen born in 1985, to sell 1 kilogram of hashish for USD 20,000. The illicit substance and related material evidence were seized and documented in accordance with established procedures.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainees under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of an arrest has been applied.
