The "Yukori Tupolang" National Nature Park

The "Yukori Tupolang" National Nature Park is located on the southwestern slopes of the Gissar Range and encompasses an area ranging from 930 meters to 3700 meters above sea level. The highest point is the peak of Mount Khodjaykulalan, standing at 3700 meters above sea level. The relief of the national park is complex, with peaks separated by streams flowing through deep gorges. The park's hydrographic network borders the border zone of the Surkhandarya region and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the glaciers and snowfields of the main ridge. It is situated in the lower central part of the Gissar Range.
The total area of the National Nature Park is 27,851 hectares. The park is located 205 km from the center of Termez and 45 km from the center of Saryasiy District.
Natural conditions: The climate of the National Nature Park is moderate and cool, and the geological structure belongs to the Precambrian metamorphic complex.
Flora: The territory of the "Yukori Tupolang" nature park is home to 547 species of plants, including 18 species that are on the brink of extinction or listed in the "Red Book."
Fauna: The "Yukori Tupolang" nature park is home to 220 species of vertebrate animals, including 26 species of mammals, such as the Tian Shan brown bear (Ursus arctos) and the snow leopard (Panthera uncia), listed in the "Red Book." There are 137 species of birds, 25 species of reptiles, and 5 species of fish identified in the park.
12 species of rare animals and birds are listed in the "Red Book" of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) "Red List."
Ecotourism objects: Of particular importance is the 2000-year-old Savur (Archa) tree or Eastern Biota, located within the protected area, 45 km from the center of Saryosiy District, in the upper part of the Topolang reservoir and the village of Turmushabad in the Zevar section of the "Yukori Topolang" National Nature Park.
