A bilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, and the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, taking place in Bishkek.
During the discussion, the parties focused on strengthening cooperation in combating crime, with an emphasis on enhancing coordination in dealing with transnational criminal activity. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of developing effective joint mechanisms to respond to evolving security challenges.
This meeting highlighted the need for enhancing cooperation in the field of information technology crime prevention and for expanding the exchange of professional experience in this rapidly developing area. Additionally, the parties discussed strengthening their joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, and illicit drug trafficking.
Special attention was given to expanding practical cooperation between law enforcement agencies of both countries. This included improving information sharing and exchanging best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
During the event, which took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, priority tasks were identified to advance cooperation to a new level.
