Tashkent hosts the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship

AMMA's Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship is to be held in Tashkent from May 18 to 25, 2026, according to the annual calendar of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
This prestigious tournament brought together athletes from across the continent and represented another significant step in promoting mixed martial arts and strengthening international sports cooperation in the region.
As part of the championship, the 2nd AMMA Youth Championship for athletes aged 18 to 21 (U-18/U21) takes place on May 18–20, while the 4th AMMA Adult Championship will be held on May 22–24.
A total of 400 athletes from 23 countries are participating in the competition. The participating nations include Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Australia, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, China, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tajikistan, and Thailand.
Uzbekistan is represented in the championship by a team of 44 athletes, including:
- 14 male young athletes,
- 6 female young athletes,
- 16 male senior athletes,
- 8 female senior athletes.
The championship also carries special significance as it serves as an official qualifying stage for the 2026 Asian Games.
Competitions are being held at the Individual Wrestling Complex in the Olympic Village in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
On May 18, the opening day of the championship featured competitions among athletes in the U-18/U21 category, marking the official start of the continental tournament.
