Throughout the country, large-scale preventive and control measures under the "Black Drug-2026" operation are being carried out to combat the illegal circulation of narcotics.
As part of these activities, officers of the Piskent District Internal Affairs Department conducted operational measures at a household located in the “Birlik” mahalla.
During the inspection, it was found that the homeowner had illegally cultivated 57 narcotic plants in the courtyard of the residence beneath grapevines. The plants were documented and seized as material evidence in the presence of witnesses.
According to the findings of a forensic chemical examination, the seized plants were identified as opium poppy, including their stems, leaves, roots and capsules. Experts also confirmed the presence of the narcotic substance “morphine” belonging to the opium group within the plant capsules.
A criminal case has been initiated by the district internal affairs department under Part 1 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigations are currently undertaken.
