The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted a conference on "Artificial Intelligence in Law Enforcement Activities: Modern Cyber Threats and Current Issues of Digital Forensics"

The international event was organized in a hybrid format, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and cadets from prominent higher education and research institutions in Uzbekistan as well as abroad.
During the opening remarks of the conference, participants stressed the conference's primary objectives as promoting the greater integration of artificial intelligence technologies into law enforcement practices, enhancing the effectiveness of combating cybercrime, and expanding the capabilities of digital forensics as well as studying and adopting advanced international experiences.
Speakers included representatives from the Chinese University of Public Security, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the Siberian Law Institute of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tashkent International University of Chemistry, the Academy of Law Enforcement, the Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy.
During the sessions, presentations were delivered on a range of relevant topics, including the prevention of “deepfake”-related crimes, cybersecurity in the age of artificial intelligence, the use of artificial intelligence in combating cybercrime, the application of digital forensics research in crime detection and investigation, and the practical use of digital technologies in law enforcement.
A number of practical recommendations and proposals were developed as a result of the discussions. Among these was the development of modern tools and algorithms for detecting and solving cybercrimes, improving the legal framework for artificial intelligence use in law enforcement, training of digital forensics specialists, and strengthening the scientific basis for combating crimes involving information technology.
