During the discussion, the Afghan side expressed appreciation for the initiatives taken by the President of Uzbekistan in order to jointly address regional challenges, particularly to strengthen international awareness and cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs.
The parties discussed the possibility of further strengthening cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries, with a special focus on collaboration between their respective Ministries of Internal Affairs. A number of key topics were discussed, including ensuring regional security and strengthening regional efforts to combat transnational drug trafficking.
It was noted that the global forum held in Uzbekistan on “Combating Transnational Drug Threats to Ensure Public Health and Security” is of significant importance not only for Afghanistan but also for all neighboring countries. As a result of these discussions, both parties have agreed to increase the level of mutual information exchange.
A constructive and cordial meeting concluded with commitments to further develop and sustain mutually beneficial cooperation.
