The Namangan Regional Department of Internal Affairs organized a seminar on implementing the "Surkhandarya practice," a new procedure for determining procedural timeframes for the completion of criminal cases.
The training was organized under the leadership of Colonel M. Sattarov, First Deputy Head of the Investigation Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It brought together investigators from regional investigation divisions, and all city and district internal affairs departments.
Participants in the seminar discussed in detail the introduction of the "Surkhandarya practice," which aims to ensure the timely completion of criminal cases that pose no significant social danger. Particular attention was given to its key features, including conducting comprehensive, thorough, and high-quality pre-investigation checks, as well as expanding the application of legal mechanisms such as reconciliation and plea agreements.
It was emphasized that the implementation of these measures will ensure that criminal cases are handled efficiently, promptly, and in full compliance with legal requirements. Most importantly, the approach is expected to reduce unnecessary expenses and prevent inconvenience for all parties involved in the process.
