The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting a series of field studies in Mirabad district of Tashkent aimed at creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents and addressing existing issues directly on site.
As part of this work, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Bakhodir Mirzarakhimov, is leading a comprehensive assessment of measures related to the early prevention of crimes and offences, particularly in densely populated areas and key public facilities.
As part of the visit, particular attention was paid to the operation of local markets, including the conditions created for citizens, the installation and effective use of surveillance systems, as well as ensuring compliance with fire and sanitary regulations.
In meetings with representatives of the “mahalla seven,” discussions focused on current challenges and future priorities. Emphasis was placed on strengthening the early prevention of domestic violence, particularly among women and youth. It also addressed employment issues, and making more effective use of community outreach mechanisms. This included the role of “mahalla propagandists” in raising legal awareness and promoting preventive measures.
Members of the working group also reviewed the conditions at mahalla citizens’ assemblies and analyzed ongoing efforts to ensure public safety in both multi-storey residential areas and individual housing sectors.
Such on-site studies contribute to identifying practical solutions, improving coordination at the local level, and further enhancing the effectiveness of measures aimed at maintaining public safety.
