Today, women's rights and gender equality in Uzbekistan are a priority of state policy. The Head of State has repeatedly emphasized that “in a country where women’s dignity and human dignity are respected, peace, harmony and prosperity will undoubtedly prevail.” This context emphasizes the importance of strengthening women's roles and participation in all aspects of society.
Women serving in internal affairs bodies make an important contribution to the safety of the public and the protection of the interests of citizens. The dedication of these women along with their male colleagues is widely recognized. Recent years have seen an increase in the number of women in leadership positions in areas such as crime prevention, migration and citizenship registration, investigation, criminal investigation, road safety, medical services, and spiritual and educational work.
In his remarks at the ceremony, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, emphasized the importance of supporting the activities and initiatives of women as part of the reform process undertaken by the government. He noted that tens of thousands of women working within the ministry’s system are successfully fulfilling their duties, justifying the high level of trust placed on them.
It was highlighted that women not only care for their families and raise future generations, but also serve with dedication in educational and medical institutions of the ministry, as well as in operational units, working side-by-side with their colleagues in ensuring public security.
Over the past five years, 33 female employees of internal affairs bodies have been awarded high state honors by presidential decrees. In particular, the recent awarding of the “For Loyal Service” medal to Sadbaroy Jumaeva, Head of the Migration and Citizenship Registration Department of the Denov district Internal Affairs Department in Surkhandarya Region, was noted as a vivid example of the recognition given to women’s contributions within the system.
The event also highlighted the growing achievements of women in the academic and scientific fields. Currently, educational institutions affiliated with the ministry employ 59 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) and 12 Doctors of Science. At the same time, more than 280 female cadets are studying at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, while about 750 girls are enrolled in academic lyceums affiliated with the ministry.
During the ceremony, a group of female employees who demonstrated exemplary service, achieved notable professional results, actively contributed to combating crime and preventing offenses, and played an important role in educating young people in the spirit of patriotism were awarded by ministerial order. Departmental badges, honorary signs, commemorative gifts, regular and special ranks were solemnly presented.
On the occasion of the holiday, gratitude was also expressed to the mothers who raised and supported the defenders of the country. As part of this meaningful tradition, letters of appreciation from the Minister of Internal Affairs were delivered to the mothers of employees.
