Representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation visited the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

As part of his visit to Uzbekistan, Robert Walker, a representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), visited the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the visit, the distinguished guest learned about the Academy’s activities and educational infrastructure. He toured the information resource center, specialized mobile training vehicles, the combat and physical training complex, as well as the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment. He was briefed on the conditions created for cadets and teaching staff.
Robert Walker highly praised the modern approaches introduced to education. In particular, he commended the dual training system, and the targeted preparation of managerial personnel for internal affairs bodies. He also acknowledged the implementation of crime prevention based on scientific methods, and the steady development of international cooperation.
The visit continued with a bilateral meeting between the guest and the Head of the Academy, Rustam Khatamov. The discussions were held in a constructive and cordial atmosphere, focusing on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the current state of Uzbek–US relations.
It was noted that in recent years, multifaceted cooperation between the two countries has reached a qualitatively new level. Relations built on mutual respect and consideration of interests contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership and reinforcing the position of both countries as reliable partners on the international stage.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for enhancing collaboration in law enforcement, strengthening personnel capabilities, and enhancing the exchange of experiences in order to meet the growing challenges to security and stability. The Head of the Academy stressed the importance of the dialogue and made a number of practical recommendations.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a bilateral memorandum of understanding with the FBI, to organize specialized training courses on combating transnational crime, to engage qualified foreign specialists in the educational process, and to establish cooperation in other priority areas.
