Leaders of MIA reviewed investigative activities in the Fergana region and assigned specific tasks

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov paid a working visit to the Fergana Region within the framework of the tasks outlined during the videoconference meeting chaired by the Head of State in Tashkent on January 27.
This visit is intended to introduce best practices for creating a safe and secure environment, as well as to critically evaluate and further improve the quality and effectiveness of investigations.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister became familiar with the working conditions provided to investigators and inquiry officers. He held direct meetings with investigators serving in cities and districts across the region. He thoroughly reviewed the status of preliminary investigative activities in criminal cases under their supervision, as well as pre-investigation inspection materials.
A particular focus was placed on identifying mistakes and deficiencies in the investigative process. The problem of existing deficiencies was openly discussed, and specific instructions were issued with a view to eliminating these deficiencies and improving the overall quality of investigations.
A review of the activities of duty units within internal affairs bodies was also conducted, including the lawful handling of crime reports registered in the "E-material" information system, and the appropriate conduct of interviews conducted within the "Questions" module. For the purpose of ensuring strict compliance with legal and procedural requirements, relevant guidance was provided to heads of sectoral services.
In addition, detailed instructions were given to:
- further improve the quality and timeliness of investigations;
- strictly observe procedural deadlines;
- ensure lawful and well-founded decisions on pre-investigation materials;
- conduct comprehensive, full, and objective verification of all statements made by participants in criminal proceedings;
- guarantee timely notification in accordance with established procedures;
- strictly adhere to evidentiary requirements during evidence collection, registration, and evaluation;
- take all necessary procedural measures at the initial stage to recover material damage caused by crimes;
- systematically enhance the professional knowledge and practical skills of investigators.
