According to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding strengthening early crime prevention and improving criminogenic conditions in Tashkent, a working group led by Colonel K. A. Shodibekov, Head of the Security Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is carrying out comprehensive practical measures in Mirabad district.
The Mirabad district is one of the most densely populated and socially active areas of the capital. It has 39 mahallas, of which four are classified as high-risk criminogenic areas, nine as medium-risk areas, and 26 as stable mahallas. As a result of this situation, the department's leadership formed a specialized working group to improve mahalla conditions in high- and medium-risk areas.
A scientific and analytical approach has been used to initiate monitoring activities in cooperation with the Scientific Center of the Security Department. According to a dedicated action plan, modern facial recognition video surveillance systems and emergency SOS buttons are being installed in the Kuylyk-ota mahalla, located near the intersection of Mirabad, Yashnabad, and Bektemir districts. Meanwhile, patrols and surveillance measures have been significantly enhanced.
As part of these efforts, explanations and awareness-raising activities are being conducted with business owners in order to improve the technical and physical protection of facilities, ensure their security, and maintain public order around those facilities.
Patrol routes of quick response units have been adjusted to focus on locations with a higher risk of criminal activity, ensuring prompt response when needed.
Moreover, practical training is provided to cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to enhance their skills in organizing joint service activities with other specialized units.
The objective of these targeted measures is to create a safer environment for residents and visitors, stabilize the criminal situation, and strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.
