The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs recently hosted an online training session in collaboration with the Academy of Law and Administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation in an effort to strengthen international academic relations.
The session brought together a diverse group of participants, including senior faculty members from specialized departments, full-time cadets specializing in "Crime Prevention and Probation" and "Penalty Enforcement," as well as correspondence program students.
During the training, Russian expert Oleg Ananev provided an in-depth discussion of the complexities of post-penitentiary probation. He provided valuable insights into former offenders' social adaptations, reintegrations, and rehabilitations. Furthermore, he provided a comparative analysis of how these international best practices can be incorporated into national legislation and local field operations.
The event concluded with an engaging, live Q&A session. This open dialogue allowed participants to exchange perspectives on modernizing probation services and improving the effectiveness of rehabilitation strategies.
