On November 24 to 28, the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus for Forensic Examinations, in cooperation with the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training, organized a series of practical training sessions aimed at advancing forensic methodologies. In this program entitled "Further Improvement of Forensic Activities: Introduction to New Examination Methods, Innovative Technologies, Experience Exchange, and Skills Development," specialists discussed the latest techniques and approaches in the field.
The participants also had the opportunity to observe the operations of the Regula company in Minsk, which is known for its expertise in expert and identification technologies.
During the training, experts from the Department of Genetic Research and State Registration of Personal Genome Information of the Main Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated.
The program included a visit to specialized laboratories dedicated to human DNA analysis and personal identification. The participants observed the reagents used to examine mitochondrial DNA, methods for analysing Y-chromosomes, and the working principles of modern devices for extracting DNA from biological samples.
The educational activities, updated curricula, and practice-oriented modules offered by the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel under the State Committee for Forensic Examinations of Belarus generated intensea interest among participants, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development in forensic science.
