Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Investigative Committee of Belarus

During the visit, three major events were held. A Memorandum of Understanding on Information Exchange and Mutual Assistance was signed on the first day of the meeting between the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The memorandum included an agreement by both parties to strengthen cooperation, within the framework of their national legislation and international commitments, in order to prevent and combat crimes related to information technology and other categories of criminal activity.
On November 12, according to the visit program, a working meeting took place with the participation of the Uzbek delegation, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, as well as deputy ministers from Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the Investigative Committee of Belarus and the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan adopted a joint Statement aimed at enhancing efforts to fight crime, improve investigative practices, and introduce advanced scientific, technical, and organizational methods in preliminary investigations.
Additionally, the Statement stressed the importance of expanding the use of joint investigative and operational groups to address specific criminal cases within member states of the Commonwealth, and strengthening coordination when investigating interconnected crimes.
On the final day of the visit, delegation members participated in an international scientific and practical conference titled “Key Strategies for Improving the National Security System in the Context of Combating Cybercrime.”
Furthermore, the parties agreed to implement jointly the measures outlined in the Memorandum between Uzbekistan and Belarus and the multilateral Statement signed by Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
